For the love of god I hope the OP hasn't had sex on it....hyperdrive would be acceptable.

I can, the op clearly just wants to show the previous owner how he's getting on with the build.

yes,...i'm not sure he'd be all that impressed by what you did, ie stuck the forks in and put a steerer and stem on?

if you've been drinking fair enough,..your allowed a pass.. 😀

and 6 months have passed....?

the seller may well have passed away?

Maybe they should get a room.

its expensive to build a custom bike, and the only thing thats 2nd hand is the frame, rest of the things are new

Some people on this site are complete knobs

Keep going Chrisb- not everyone can fund a dream build in one go. Anticipation adds to the excitement.

oh, cool, i thought you'd just hung stock stuff on a production frame, what have you done? changed the angles, butting profiles? I'd have probably gone for a non standard colour though just so it looks different

Well you know the rules. If you've got nothing negative to say, then say nothing 🙂

Bike looks sweet to me though.

bloody hell folks. Give the guy a break. The OP is clearly chuffed about building the bike up.

If you think its an irrelevant thread then why bother posting?

Will be a nice bike when its finished,at this rate it might just be ready for when the whether gets nice...

This thread makes me a little bit sad. Some guy just wants to show off how he's doing with a bike he's saved up for a long time to build.

It's a lot nicer than my bike anyway Chris (Stock 2011 Cindercone here - I'd kill for a Cotic with that spec...)

So was mine.

Oooh double post, might take the opportunity to post something complementary....

Nice bike dude. Wish I could afford to build a 2nd bike. It will be a hardtail singlespeed ready for next winter, I have brakes, crankset and rear hub.

Will post up photos soon.

Chris - looking good, mate. Keep up the good work.

Ignore the (seemingly) negative comments - just read those posts as if they are the very driest forms of humour...... 😯

Make sure you post pics when finished - don't know about anyone else but I'd like to see the finished article - always like to see what people do with their bikes, whatever they are. When finished it'll be a really special bike to you whatever you do with it.

Oh and don't worry about how long it takes - took me 6 months from start to (recent) finish to build my Soul and it's all the better for it! One day I'll get round to posting pics of mine, fully expecting a STW lambasting for yet another Soul on the Forum!

Cheers,

Stu

Good work OP, although it looks to me like you haven't got valve and tyre markings lined up correctly.

I'm building a new (2nd hand) bike for the missus, here's my progress:

Chris - nice bike bud, and well done for holding out for the bits you want. I've always ending up buying a few cheaper bits just to get out and ride, only to spend even more cash replacing those bits later...

However, I hope you can see the funny side of the dry humoured responces - I haven't laughed so much in ages!

(On a side note, with around 500 views on the photo, you could be winning on the 'anyone famous on STW thread')

Looking good that! It'd drive me mad building a bike over months, good on yer.

(blue is a bit difficult, because every blue component you can buy is a different bloomin shade of blue! I'm building a blue 224 and I'm just not getting into blue ano parts, it's black white or blue paint.)
