I had to push the pistons back into the caliper of my hope m4's as they had fully extended. This proved to be quite difficult...I pushed really hard and then they went in suddenly and a tiny amount of oil seeped out! Is this a bad thing, I'm a bit worried?

Best thing to do is give them a bleed, it'll put your mind at rest. Here's a bit of a how to from Hope themselves http://www.hopegb.com/page_mep_force_4.html Oh and at least you'll have lubed the seals 🙂
it is dead easy though.
