In need of a new saddle and was thinking of going down the Brooks route. Does anyone ride Brooks XC and how does it cope with foul conditions?

Cheers mi dears

I've had the standard B17 for a couple of years now. Done a couple of thousand miles on it, mainly commuting where it's left out in the rain all day fairly regularly.

It's a bit wide for MTBing, so I'd get the narrow version if getting another.

I'm using a Brooks Swift, its fine. Only down side is riding when its really wet, the leather gets saturated eventually.

Have a look here

I used to ride a B17 and a Swift, but both are now on tourer/commuters.

They're just too fat for technical riding. I rode for a year on a B17 leaving in outside the tent, rain or shine, and it's still fine. Really had no problem with stretching.

Not so much a stretching issue, its just that it holds the moisture for so long. Can make riding on it (wet) a little uncomfortable. Fine otherwise. I tend to fit a normal WTB saddle for the wetter days.
