Have a Montane Pertex jacket thats packs down to around the size of an apple.
But would like something more waterproof that can be packed compressed small.
Any recomendations ?

Montane also make a waterproof which packs down to pretty much the same size as the pertex top... it's the Featherlite Velo H2O Jacket.

Aye, look at the Montane range some more, their stock in trade is light n fast n OK waterproofing.
I find with my pertex that the application of Nikwax works wonders for a while.
