Mrs Stevious is looking for a CX bike for winter road / non-racy CX duties. We've looked at a few online (arkose, PX, Canyon) but keep coming across 50-51cm frames being the smallest available.

Where should we look for an approx £1000 CX bike for a lady? Bonus points if it doesn't come with a 48/38 crankset 🙂

Thanks

Graham Weigh does some pretty small frames.

Kona Jake range spec a 47cm, but not sure if this is imported, the 49cm is.

Not a lady, but I'm 5' 4" and ride a small Boardman CX Team. Picked it up for just under £500 after BC discount and Quidco cash back. Size wise it's been fine on the road, even with the standard 90mm stem. I've not had it off road yet, but can't foresee any problems.

Focus Mares- Munqechick currently leading our CX league on an XS. She's 5' 4 and a half (apparently that half is very important). They also do an XXS.

Her second/pit bike is a Dolan Multi X which is even smaller than her Focus.

I'm 5'5" but with really short legs (28" inseam) and have a CAADX which fits nicely. I also tried several Ridleys, some of which were far too small even for me (I have a recollection that they get down to a 44cm frame, but I might be mistaken).

Arkose Women's is 43cm C-T in size small. Reduced in the sale at the moment.

Not convinced that a tiny frame is needed. I'm an inch taller and used to ride a men's small Genesis CdF. All my bikes are men's.

My wife has a Specialised Crux, with a 49cm frame. Looking online they also do a tiny 46cm one too.

Thanks all. Probably don't need a micro-frame after all. Will investigate.
