My mates Bullit was nattily attired in XTR, King Hubs n Headset and silly hose coating with the obligatory Tommo post.

Cheap frame = not bling.

It has to be either carbon, Ti, or custom build, anything else is too run of the mill.

Full XTR, or XX required. IMO X0 just doesn't quite cut it.

Brakes need to be floating rotors, ideally Titanium rotors floating on carbon centres. Colour matched braided hoses.

Wheels should be carbon rims on Industry Nine or Chris King, and colour coordinated. Anodised spokes are ideal.

Collars and cuffs should all match, ideally two or three colours at most.

Lots of nice bikes. Except that Look. That is just vile.

We need Cinnamon_Girl's Litespeed - that baby is bling!

Don't take this the wrong way stoney. The pink doesnt go at all. Seriously, a black King headset would really set off the graphics on the downtube brilliantly...Sell it to me and I will err....put it on the Inbred I have err just bought 🙄

Most bling would be the guy with the 'Black Sheep' or the turqoise IF with gem encrusted stem spacers - both not on this thread though!

understated 'bling'. Custom frame, Ti Bolts (mostly) Ti Spokes, CK headset and hubs, now with Fox RLC's. Certainly over 19lbs thou 😆 I've got a nice flux with CK hubs, Ti bolted throughout, but probably not concidered bling enough now as it's XO kit. Are we allowed road bikes?

Did I hear my name? Am too frightened to post having seen so many stunning bikes.

Mine's a mid-life crisis bike and it's unfinished. Will be going for the understated look, rather than the hooker look as it were.

So, it's a Litespeed Ocoee with DT Swiss forks, Hope Pro 3's with DT hubs, Hope carbon brakes, CK headset, Litespeed Ti seatpost, carbon bar, Thomson stem, Gore sealed cables, XT (couldn't justify XTR price). It's gorgeous, 22.42 lbs and very fast:-)

Can't ride for toffees though 🙄

I beg to differ Slimtubing, here's my new one, not 'bling' as such due to the chorus kit, but not that garish i'd argue.

I think all bikes could be bling BUT this is a mountain bike forum so only mtb's should count. IMO of course!

mmm, I thought my stolen Tinbred was pretty bling, custom polished, plenty of XTR, Campag cranks, anodized nipples, shiny carbon bits, and as many goldy looking bits as I could muster..

What about that Ghisallo with Boras, that's pretty bling.

Dunno if mine will actually show, stupid Fotopic:

Now substantially more bling, I-link cables with Power Cordz, Egg Beaters with ti axles, Hope floating rotors, white New Ultimate stem, carbon jockey wheels etc.

Blimey. I thought that getting matching SSC red BB and QRs was bling. I guess I'll never have a bling bike, the Scottish and Yorkshire in my genes will not allow me to pay more than is practical for anything.

I'll post my BMX at lunchtime for some "well used bling"

Country bikes frame (Red, it can't be bling unless its made on this continent by a comany no-ones heard of)

Oddesy forks (black)

Oddesy headset (raw steel)

Element cassette hubs, 14mm axels (ano blue)

Shadow conspiracy chainring (29-13 gearing) (black)

proper front rim (ano blue)

alex rear (chrome)

maxxis maxxdady tires

primopro stem (black)

primo bars (black)

hombre brake and lever (black with green nuts)

oddesy cable (blue)

demolition seatpost ( ano blue)

demolition seat (black, gray, blue)

demolition (i think) cranks (black)

£800 and it still only has one brake and one gear and still weighs in the wrong side of 30lb! Although it is mentaly strong 🙂 Seriously tempted to strip it and work out where the weight is, weighed the wheels the other day 1150g upfornt and 1550g out back! And I've just put new tires on there which has probably added another 400g over the park ones that were on it! Shoping list is for a new frame and wheels in January methinks 🙁

I think there is a distinction between bling and anything understated, especially the beautiful handmade stuff on here. In that respect I think njee20 wins with his blinged Spesh - in a kinda Cosworth Focus way - that's bling IMO!?

yeah njee20's really does remind me of a chav'd up corsa or some such horror 😉

My drop bar bikes are more bling than my workhorse MTBs. Has to have carbon rings for true bling...

I'll put in a bid for fanciest wheels....

[img] [/img]

Dugast Rhino XL tubular tyres, Reynolds carbon rims, Sapim CX ray spokes, Tune King & Kong hubs.

When they go on my new Ti frame & carbon fork which should arrive next week and it gets the various other high end bits floating around the shed on it perhaps we'll come back and submit the whole bike...

This thread is 90% fail!! This just looks like every other "post pics of your bike" thread...

Don't get me wrong, some nice bikes on here, but no way near what I'd call "most bling bike" candidates. I've got some lovely bikes (£3k +) but I'd never claim them to be bling I have to agree with some of the rules posted above...

Wooo, I'm winning something, according to some people... Long live the S-Works Cosworth.

I personally think that bling should not mean mainstream (say the man with the Specialized...). XT, Hope, Thomson etc has no place!

In that respect there are some excellent candidates on here, and some less so! Geoff that's an awesome retro build, but bling... I'm just not so sure.

njee i do like those coloured spokes 😉 did you get them done special or is it a factory scheme ?

It's a factory scheme on the Roval Controle SL wheelset, a few white spokes in the wheels, it'd look more tarty if it was all of them like the Bontrager wheels, but possibly a bit garish!

Nah monotokpoint, that's just a bit dull, FSA finishing kit's not bling, Pro IIs aren't exciting! It's a nice bike, but not particularly bling. IMO of course.

Yeah you are prolly right, prefer a more understated and tasteful look. True, FSA isn't bling, even if it was pricey. Ignore my post!

FSA stuff isn't understated though, it's generally horrifically garish and covered with decals. Would go well on a Specialized, who seem to subscribe to the same school of thought!

Those Fats are the blingest things on here.

Get yourself over to Retro Bike! 😉
