got a brandnew bike with shop stickers and manufacturing stickers all over it that i have removed. they have left a horrible residue on my frame which has turned black because of the stickyness.
is it ok to remove with white spirit or turpentine?
You need lighter fluid

Yes but meths or acetone (nail varnish remover) is better IME.
Or IPA
Petrol?
or WD40
I use preptone ebay
Dunno what is in it but it is great stuff
good old WD40! cheers
Be careful with Acetone - it can take the shine off your frame (don't need to ask me how I know)
Interesting - I've never seen that happen - what frame?
Brake/Contact cleaner works well too
start gentle and work up. i would also suggest acetone is a bit too strong and is likely to damage any paint on there.
WD40, alcohol, citrus sticker remover etc would all be my first ports of call.
-1 acetone, there's a reason lasses use it to take paint off their nails.
WD40, might take longer but wont damage paint
