Anyone know if there is significant flood damaged up a Whinlatter? We're heading to Keswick for a week and usually go for a New Years Day ride there.

Also, looks like there is damaged to the bridge at Watendlath?

Best wishes to everyone living up that way, obviously disruption to our holiday plans is a minor issue in comparison.

The top of the South is shut for maintainence. The North was fine on Christmas Eve.

Agentdagnamit, Missus me and pooch are there from the 30th to see in the new year, go over there a lot as family have a small place near by at Portinscale which has been under water sadly.

I think everywhere will be flowing water but the local loop borrowdale bash is always good fun even with water, where you staying ? were at the Inn on the Square stayed before smashing place & dog friendly, fully intend sampling plenty of Ullswater Gold in the dog & gun.

Cheers Mark

PS If you can't get over the bridge at Watendlath there's always the Skiddaw loop & down lonscale fell & spoony green lane then to the pub!

Watendlath bridge is buckled. Had to turn back on a night ride a week back. They'd started to put a temporary wood bridge in so i assume its finished... Assuming it doesn't wash away today.

Was at Whinlatter this evening. Most of the south is shut, not just the top loop. North loop and blue are fine.

The map is still showing Watendlath bridge as being closed. I'd be interested to know if anyone knows otherwise.
