[#1158949]

I am after some warm, waterproof shoes/boots. I was looking at the Specialized BG Defrosters but many reviews say that they are not warm.

I also looked at the Shimano MW-02 but then realised that this has been replaced by the MW-80, which seems to be my best choice. The trouble is, everywhere seems to be out of stock. Wiggle say it's discontinued, and CRC say out of stock until 10/09/2010.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks

mw 80
just got two pairs ( me and son) from CRc last week ( size 48)
replaces my worn out ( 4hard years) MW02's. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better and warmer, and should be more durable.

I've had both Northwave GTX and Shimano MW80. Definately prefer the Shimano boots.

Be careful with sizing though, i'm normally a size 8 (42) but went for a 44 to allow for thicker socks.

Try Merlin they are showing stock of certain sizes.

Heya, I've worked with Specialized for 4 Years now, They make VERY good shoes, I've even got 2 pairs from them, However. I sell Shimano too.

In this particular case, Shimano are a hell of a lot better. I've got the MW-80's I got mine from Wiggle. £105. http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/cycle/7/Shimano_MW80_MTB_Cycling_Shoes/5360038807/

A fellow co-worker bought the Spec ones, returned them after 2 hours.

However, all my customers have given me great reviews from the Shimano shoes. However, go ONE SIZE bigger.

I hope this has helped.

Try Nelson Cycles in Llangynidyr for MW80s - I think their mail order set up is cyclebasket.com - they had plenty available when I bought mine a few weeks ago - I think I paid £105

Not really a winter boot ... more of a boot for big mountain days, but I recently got a pair of MT-91s to replace my MT-90s. Look like they will be as nice as the MT-90s were.

I've been wearing MP66s most of the time this winter, but am on flats and MP-90s with all this snow.

MW-80 here, got them for £100 from here but it looks like they have put them up a bit more than the 2.5% increase in vat.
