Just recovering from some shoulder surgery to 'tidy up' an athritic shoulder following multiple disloactions during my youth (rugby) and surgery some 15 years ago...

I'me riding with a camelback Mule with just my gear in and water in a bottle, but the weight of the pack and stra across my shoulder is causing discomfort.....so I was thinking of trying one of these Wingnut packs?

Views/opionions on packs appreciated, but also looking for some advice on sizing/capacity? I ride with either a Mule or Hawg and would really like to get buy using one pack in the future...which Wingnut packs are comparable in load capacity?

And where can I get one? Ukbikestore dont seem to have any in stock?

Thanks

I got one after seeing them at last years' Dyfi Enduro, my back needs all the help it cane get. I went for the Hyper 3.0, loads of space but also can be drawn in smaller with the elastic cord. Very comfy, compared to the TNF Hammerhead I was using I don't know it's on. Try the Holey Trail in Machynlleth, they do Wingnut. I got mine from UKBikestore though.

Enduro for me, as mini-reviewed in the latest issue of the mag. Comfortable, takes weight off your shoulders, unless very fully loaded. Good large volume, but will carry small loads and cinch up small.

I've got the M.P.S pack, which can take up to 40litres or so. Whats good about it is that its modular (Modular pack system, see?) so you can make it a small day pack, all the way up to being almost big enough for multi-day camping trips.

Very very comfy, and seems to halve the dead-weight of your load.

I find it a bit unstable though. Perhaps to be expected when its fully loaded with camping gear and i'm trying to bunnyhop drainage ditches, but it would be nice if it could be made a bit more stable.

Oh, Edinburgh Bicycle Co-op got me mine, but had to order it for me. Pretty hefty r.r.p...

The Wingnut has a huge capacity and what I really like is being able to reach both the mesh and zipped pockets without removing the pack.

I previously used the Camelbak Blowfish and would say that the Wingnut holds more.

Mine came from UK Bike Store but had to wait ages, it's the largest one (can't remember model name).

Hi got slipped disc in my neck, got the adventure pack direct from the manufacturer 3 and a bit years ago. brillant piece of kit, as above removes the weight from your shoulders mega stable and tough. took a long slide on the road recently the bag came away unmarked as did my roach shorts alas the same cannot be said for my endura superlight or my hip.
Buy a wingnut, if you do regret it they will be snapped up second hand

Just tested the 3.0 this weekend and reckon same size as camelbak mule but much more comfy. Will prob order one of the larger ones from Head for the Hills (no stock though).
