Same price.
For Alps, some downhill (which I'm new to) and some pedalling.
Thats a lot of money for the 2008 one. Kevin sold his on here 18 months ago with a better spec for £750
If you can run to a bit extra Enduro Evo could be an option
Hmm tricky: Personally, I would get the 2010 one (I have the 2009 version - same bike - and use it for the same things as you intend to) and replace the forks with either 170mm Lyriks, or some Fox 180s.
Both look expensive to me.
I haven't ridden the recent model but I did have an 07 and tbh I thought it was pointless. Pedalled like my downhill bike, descended like my trail bike.
What bikes do you have already? Is it a totally different niche for you?
The newer one for sure.
Then pick up a used Totem, they don't cost much compared to Lyriks and 36s.
Currently got a Blue Pig and an 08 Trek EX8. So yes, totally different.
Both with 130/140mm forks.
Felt a bit under biked in the Alps on the Trek!
Fair dos, that makes more sense- if you had a big bike already I'd say throw parts at it instead (there was honestly no time I was riding the SX when I wouldn't rather have been on an Alpine, or my Hemlock, or similiar) But that doesn't really work with your existing bikes.
And thanks.
Have you looked on southern downhill or pinkbike for other 2nd hand options? 1200 does seem a lot of money.
Yeah, the white SX is a bit overpriced.
Maybe get in touch with the guy and politely register your interest, should it not sell.
