A lot would depend on your wheels. Most these days can be tubeless'd with some tape and tubeless valves. You don't necessarily need the proper rim strips/valves you get in the expensive kits.

Superstar brass valves and tape come out pretty cheap and work good.

One roll is enough for two wraps on each wheel, which I find gives a more reliable seal.

I use Doc Blue from my LBS - made by Stans but way cheaper!! Bontrager juice was rubbish.

I prefer Gorilla Tape rather than Superstar tape. It is another option at least.

You don't have to use Gorrilla brand. Just any heavy duty tape. I used unbranded Heavy Duty Duct Tape. Worked perfectly.

Stans sealant however is essential. Maybe another brand, but Stans works great. Use lots. Two or three scoops per tyre. Half the problems people get is lack of sealant.

I'm using joes rims strips and they work very well

Not used rim straps in years, tape and decent tyres are the most important bits, along with removable core valves if you need faster inflation to get them seated.
