I am looking at getting a training watch.
It is purely for mountain biking and swimming.
I would like to measure, heart rate, calories and obviously have GPS etc.
The forerunner 235 appeared to fit the bill but I am not convinced it will easily measure swimming laps.
Ideally under £200
Any suggestions?

Millets, 15% off.
garmin 235 is good but doesnt have a specific swimming mode. there are some connectIQ apps but not tried them in anger.
seen it recently as low as £170
slightly old technology now, but the Ambit 3 will do everything and more
and this one comes with a HR rate monitor
Sorry, i thought you meant one of these

That's a very cool watch. Say it's Swiss-made and you could probably charge a few grand for it!
The 235 isn't great as for swimming laps, even the additional third party pool swim app is pretty poor in my experience. I use an old 920 for swimming but my 235 as an everyday watch. For swimming the two are not in the same league, so get a tri specific watch that is designed for lap swimming.
got an Instinct the other day - I reckon it fits the bill well
wife has the 735, she likes it for swimming (as well as the other stuff).
Suunto Ambit 3 sport has swim metrics like length counting
I think the Garmin vivoactive counts lengths
Dcrainmaker will know all.....
What about a vivoactive 3?
I used to be on garmin but now have a fb ionic which is decent but more for all round general fitness. The wife has a va 3 and it's spot on.
