The Thomson is a great stem. I really like the 70mm version. Currently using the Raceface turbine 60mm stem which is up there in terms of built quality and looks. The fact that I could get a 60mm version with a some sort of rise was the deciding factor.

I think that all stems around that price mark are going to be pretty solid and it really comes down to length, rise and aesthetics.

I've got the Thomson on two bikes and they do the job perfectly. I am tempted by the haven just to "match" the havoc bars I've got.

The haven stem is really nice. No good if you want rise though.

Happy with the Haven.
I had a Truvativ AKA before and that was a great stem. Cheap to buy too.

No brainer - On One CNC. Lighter and cheaper than anything mentioned above plus stiff.

I've had A PRO FRS, Truvativ AKA, Thomson X4 and Raceface Turbine in 50-70mm. The Turbine is loveliest, but if budget is a concern I'd take the PRO.

Another vote for the On-One Superlight stem. Good quality, v light and good price

I'd just buy a second hand Thomson.

(Zero rise only on Thomson 70mm stems.)
