[#4572499]

Just got my 69er together last friday and went out for a decent ride on Sunday. As usual I was carrying a spare tube but it was a 26"; anyone know if, in case of a puncture, you can stretch a 26 to fit 29 or would it be better to swap it for a 29 tube and squeeze it into a 26 if the back punctures? Don't really want to carry two tubes if I can help it..

Cheers

I think you'll find it will.

You might also find a front tube for an MX bike will fit in a 26er if it's that or walk home. ๐Ÿ˜‰

26" tube will fit, just be very careful when fitting as its much easier to pinch the tube.

Just for info; (I searched for this sort of thing to no avail) you can fit a Smart Sam 29 x 2.1, with some room to spare, into a 425mm axle to crown Salsa Cromoto fork:

It works quite nicely...

I know which I'd rather be doing... 26" tube into 29er is easy..
