I know saddles are a personal thing as we all have differnet shapped backsides..I curently have a WTB Thinline Saddle that came on my Giant Anthem X2 that hurts after 10miles..

Has anybody got or used the:

If so what are your thoughts?

Not either of the 2 saddles you've mentioned, but......

I've found the SDG Bel-Air ti and the Fizik Gobi Kium to be really great.

SDG all the way, I've got the Ti-Fly and it's very comfy for a light saddle.

The WTB saddle that comes on Giant is not great. Charge Spoon or Madison Flux.

Saddles are very personal but...
I've had, in order of comfort:
SDG Bel Air RL Ti railled
SDG Formula FX I-Beam
Fizik Gobi Wingflex railled
Charge Spoon railled

I would say all were good after being ridden a few times.
The Bel Air was the most comfy.
The Charge Spoon is a bit firm at first but outstanding value.

Mine never.
Sometimes you can get creaking from the clamping bolts - a smear of grease usually sorts.

this...

reduced from 60 quid to 18 quid, been using one for two months, its absolutely spot on IMO.

If your backside is tough enough then any saddle is fine.

I use THIS one from Sheldon Brown

Ozzybmx you have the same idea as me I think. I have a giant anthem x2, same forks as you in white.

Is the saddle comfy on 2-4hr rides?

I looked at the Fizik Gobi XM K:Ium when i was in evans cycles on friday..its very firm and £69 vs £50 for the syncros
http://www.leisurelakesbikes.com/product/syncrosflsaddle.aspx?&id=11140

I know its only £19 difference, but another £10 and i can get an XT front mech to swap out the deore one that came as stock..and ad some more bling 🙂

Ozzy please can you measure the width of your syncros FL?

I've just been out and only did 7 miles and my ass is sore, my wtb saddle is only 133mm wide, i think its to narrow.

i had saddle problems for years that cost me a fortune

SDG Bel Air was very good but a little soft
WTB Rocket was a good but a little narrow
Gobi was to soft to rounded from side to side and to narrow
Selle italia slr xc gel flow would of been perfect if 10mm wider
Fizik Aliante XM Was a bit to soft

SDG Formula FXR TI Heaven like angels kissing my arse

The first ride was the Dyfi enduro with not a single issue , have since done the Welsh C2C on it and day 3 was 9hrs ride time pain free , and it's the first saddle that has not made my lipstick go numb .

Has anybody tried the Syncros FL saddle?

Yes, I've got one. It's pretty comfy and a nice shape. I can move about on it a bit but it doesn't seem to get in the way much.

Came on my Froggy but suits my Zesty a lot better.

Got one of those Syncros ones on my Froggy to - I thought it'd be fine just for doing DH stuff but christ it's uncomfy (on my ass anyway). I just use Charge Spoons on the MTB although I think if I started riding regularly for more than 3 hours I'd look at something else as it starts to make itself known after a couple of hours. For the price though it's hard not to recommend trying a Spoon first (unless you can get demo saddles)

I have recently gone to SDG Bel Air and I have to confess...... its awful (things went numb and achey which wasn't nice). WTB Pure V all the way for me! I can sit on one of those for ages no problems at all!

I've got Charge Spoons on 4 out of 5 bikes including my road bike.

Longest I've spent on the road bike is 8 hours with not a single complaint, including 332miles over 3 1/2 days back in July.

Awesome value for money, very comfortable and pretty damn durable too.

Everyone'll recommend whatever fits their bum tbh. Like, I use Charge Knives now on all my bikes, they're narrow and barely padded but I find them comfy, it took 3 days of all-day rides before I got sore, and I don't wear padded shorts either. Used to use Spoons which were about the same but I found them bulky, I'm very narrow so the wide tail of the saddle seemed to get in the way.

But still, if in doubt, try a Spoon- they're cheap, and they resell for barely less than they cost new.

Ive measured my sit bones by sitting on a bag of compost like in the following picture:
[img] [/img]
My sit bones measure 120mm so it looks like i need a 143mm saddle
looking over chain reaction it seams the sdg bell end saddle would fit 🙂
Cant understand why 98% of the selle italia's are 130mm wide..
