What's the best ruggedised smartphone case for taking my smartphone with me on rides and for skiing? I'm liking the Lifeproof Fre, as it is quite slim, attractive and waterproof, but the Griffin Survivor also gets good reviews, but it a bit more bulky. Any others out there anyone recommends? Cheers.

I always try to find a speck case for whatever I'm using. They aren't hardcore battle proof but great quality, tough and fit perfectly.

Aye speck are 2 for €10 in our local store

Cygnet workman is a decent case too if you don't need fully waterproof / nuclear arsenal etc

For biking, skiing, hiking and working etc I use one of these. And it does the job well.

Not always in denim, other styles are available.

They are cheap too, in fact they come free with most clothing.

🙂

Major vote here for the Otterbox Defender

It does look a bit Fisher Price though however the first time I took the phone out for a ride it got thrown out of a pocket (d'oh) and landed uneventfully on the road 10 feet behind me

+1 for the otterbox defender. Not the easiest for getting in a tight pocket, and does double the size and weight of my iPhone 5!
