hey guys

Basically im gettin' some new wheels built soonish but in a cunumdrum of which rims to go for.

ive narrowed it down to using sun rims, but as for which one im torn between the

equilizer 31 welded?

or

MTX 29/31 welded?

basically its for my fun bike (small hard tail)so the wheels may get some abuse but i dont want to be gettin crazy heavy DH wheels.

any ideas?or any one used either of these rims?

cheers

LLL

I have a white Funn rim (made by Sun), EXlator (sp.?). If you collect it's yours for £20.

sun singletracks are good light(570g IIRC) rims that can take proper DH abuse (within reason and under the right rider).

another vote here for halo freedom rims 540g.

the complete wheelset is cheap, and the hubs are good too.

what are you guys' recomendations of Halo rims strength based on?
..and in which ways do you find them strong? ie. are they resistant to denting at the edge or flatspotting? not brittle (rarely crack)? or laterally strong?.
genuinely interested in your opinions as I always assumed they were just some mediocre re-badged Taiwan catalogue rim marketed by Halo for the MBUK crowd.

I had a Halo SAS, it was heavy and not too tricky to bend, have to say that experience soured me on them, I'd rather stick to Mavic EX721 or EN521 for your needs I reckon..
