Ok. I've just come in from a ride after ripping off my rear mech. The mech was a Shimano Zee short guage. I'm running 1x10. Should i get another Zee or go for the SLX RD-M675 clutch mech? Both are about the same price.

Thinking that as i had a short guage mech on before, a medium guage would need the chain made longer?

You wouldn't need a longer cage. The question is why you would want a longer cage than you need?

Well they dont do a short guage SLX and Im not sure if the Zee is up to it after the way it got ripped off today with the smallest of sticks getting in its way.
