After a CO2 pump fail on my lunchtime ride I've decided to carry something manual as well.

What's a good compact pump I can do road and cross bike tyres with?

I've got a Topeak MiniMorph MasterBlaster, it's like a very diddy track pump. Works fine but I've not yet had to use it standing at the side of a road in the pouring rain!

My one of these seems to do the job nicely:

I stick one of these in my back pocket on the road. Although I guess the purists would say you have to have a frame fit pump.

Not cheap but very very well made.
Has no problems getting either road tyres up to 100psi & 2.35 Kendas up to 35psi.
