Friends son needs a new bike, his 3 younger brothers will likely inherit it, what's out there? Nothing too bling please.

Something lightish with 26" wheels.

Isla, Whyte, Orange, and some of the other brands do them. Or a small frame built up as cheap as you like.

If it's going to be handed down for 4 users, even a £1k bike works out quite reasonable over 10(?) years.

Not sure on height, probably a 24" bike, maybe a 13" framed 26" wheeled bike if short in TT.

Around 150cm you'll be transitioning to xs adult bikes but this is somewhere between 10 & 12 so difficult to answer really qwerty.

Otherwise 24" wheel kid bikes avail in everything from budget HT to FS trail or DH rigs.
