I haven't got any MTB DVDs, but my 5yr old is keen to get one, and who am I to stand in his way?! From those who know such things, if you were only to buy one MTB which would it be? (Collective...?)
if you could buy only one?
nsx6 for me
One of the Collective movies. They're all good and not much to choose between them, but my preference would probably be:
1. Seasons
2. The Collective
3. Roam
Anyone know if they're making another one?
Roam* all the way.
*Please note, Roam may induce uncontrollable urge to go biking.
i think The Collective have disbanded so you wont be getting any more films from them...although most of the team have set up a new venture called Anthill Films; their first film FOLLOW ME is out in spring
and another vote for the collective films - i much prefer their snowboard rather than mx style of film making.
Clorophilla is also worth a watch.
Home was well recommended the other week on the "what mtb video for roadies" thread, anyone know were to get it from?
Sounds a bit more like my type of riding (ei not 50 ft drops)
Break The Cycle Film.
Colin
My fave is Virtuos. Good film, little known riders all filmed in der Schweiz...nice! 😀
'Home' is a great watch, & far more real-world, as you say Z1ppy.
I'm not suggesting you need tuition Kendal, but the Dirtschool DVD is good too - plays like a film (I think) & might give you / new-5-year-old riders some good visual pointers, assuming a usual attention span; + you could come back to it again & again.
Not quite the rad action so beloved of the young newcomer though...
Another vote for Home. Real cycling for real people! Other than that I love the Earthed movies, just fast downhill riders going fast downhill.
The collective are good but they're not the type of movies I stop halfway through because I suddenly just desperately want to ride.
Earthed 3, if you look around I'm sure you'd get the Earthed box se (1-4) for under £25 ... can't fault any of the films. More varied than you might think.
Entertainment, has to be Seasons.
the "last section" actually gives me the horn and makes me want to go ride (even though they are riding tarmac smooth trails on 8" bikes)
the "last section" is on ooo toob 🙂 if ure interested
i would also recomend Klunkers.
its EXCELLENT, and gives a good insight into the history of MTBing, but its more of an interview with the likes of Tom Richey and friends, rather than "rad riding"
Save money and watch this one for free. One of the best 'make you go out and ride' films i've seen.
Part 1 and 2 on the site...
