Hi all
Due to CRC's inability to send things out properly I've received a nice discount voucher and will be spending it on a new rear tyre.
Really like the look of the ADvantage but question is 'which one to go for?'
On my Intense 6.6 the Ardent 2.25 I'm running at the moment is a bit tight on mud clearance. I'm thinking the 2.1 AD would be ideal. On CRC there are 3 different ones available that fit the bill...
2.1" 70a XC Folding 625g
2.1" 62a Exception 555g
2.1" 70a LUST 770g
I'm planning on running it tubeless on Stan's Flow rims. Will be riding, mainly, XC on the Malverns but have an uplift day at FoD soon and probably a few trail centre trips too. I'd like to think I'm a smooth rider but carry 14 stone.
What's your recommendations? I'm leaning towards the Exception but would it be strong enough?
Cheers
Steve
LUST all the way as you will be going tubeless, I am running a 2.1 on the rear and I absolutely love it. Fitted on my flows like a dream and once sealed properly never lose air and run like a dream.
LUST then XC folding in order of preference.
I omitted the exception as having had them on some Arch rims they fall off due to burping, plus they feel as strong as a well used condom.
I really would recommend the LUST if you want to be able to ride without worrying about every pine needle tearing a hole ๐
A light tyre is little advantage (see what I did there?) when it's flat.
LUST 2.1 for me at 14 stone........goes up with track pump no problems on a flow rim. Have used standard folding in past and it was fine....there's a weight advantage over the LUST but it's a bit more hassle to mount (mount one bead with tube, remove tube, use dish washing liquid for seal, pump like lunatic etc) but I need to swap the rear tyre in winter when I visit friends in Herts for riding as their version of clay based super sticky mud demands a specific mud tyre. LUST makes for pain free swaps.....
Thanks for the tips guys, shiny new tyre on it's way ๐
