Time to stop boiling my egg -
Likes: biggish visor, plenty vents, padding preferably thicker than kitchen paper
Anyone tried the Cratoni C-Hawk?
I've just bought my second Specialized S3. It's light and I really like it. But I have to caution that they are not very dog proof.
Thnks oldnpastit, look good but seem to be 100 quid? :-/
Just bought my son one from Lidl- 12.99, and its like a POC. Wore it myself, and its superb.
You can get a Specialized Tactic within your budget. I replaced my Giro Xar with one last year after a big crash in the Alps. It was cheaper than the Giro crash replacement and is a better and comfier fit.

I got mine (2014 model) for £54 in my LBS (£60 marked price plus a 10% discount for asking nicely). Station Cycles in Histon.
I've just got the Cratoni bullet road helmet, and very pleased with it. Comfy and nice quality, so their mtb one should be ok.

Sorted! I just nipped out and got the Lidl communter one, superlight, fits a treat, adjusts well, plenty vents, mozzie netting in front vents, flashing led lights on the back, raincover in which to keep all the lovely change in and looks nothing remotely like a POC. Only immediate downsides are I look more of a dick than usual (even before fitting the raincondom over it) and the visor is about 10mm . Hopefully will get me thru the summer 😯
