just for future reference im wondering which headset would be best to put on my womens specialized Dolce 2011 road bike.... im new to road biking (about 9 weeks in )....not even sure what headset is on my bike at the mo (lol)... its in for a free service today and headset is loose already hope it just wants tightening up or whatever they do... everything seems to be shimano on the bike but really unsure of the headset ???
elaine anne....its probably a crane creek. Most headsets fitted to spesh bikes are crane creek or as spesh like to call them 'specialised mindset' available from local dealers. (at a cost) I've got a spesh allez, the headset is crap and I would dearly love to change it but getting specialized or a local dealer to admit to its alternative is like getting blood from a stone. I think (where mine is concerned) that its an FSA IS-2. Check your specification and try and match it against an FSA spec sheet (via their website). Hope this helps.
