Just wondering which headset people are going for on their Horsethief builds? Would an On One Smoothie Mixer be suitable?

From Salsa site...

Headset-Upper 1-1/8" Zero Stack (ZS44/28.6)
Headset-Lower For Tapered: 56mm Zero Stack (ZS56/40); For Straight: 56mm Reducing Zero Stack (ZS56/30)

that on one isn't zero stack is it?

So a Hope Pick'n'Mix 2E Headset would work.

Tapered steerer on fork? if not you will need a reducer crown race too.

That's what I was unsure about - not a lot of detail on the On One site. But then this seems to suggest that it is ZS44 so should be ok..

Plus I'm not sure how important Zero Stack is anyway.. doesn't it just define how much it sticks up above the top of the headtube, thus affecting how many fork spacers you need?

I think the Hope option is the quality one that will pay for itself over time. Search on here for an idea of Smoothie Mixer quality...

I have a spare Smoothie Mixer so it would be the no cost option (if it fits).. then replace the bearings when they go.

The smoothie will just make it a touch taller at the front then I would have thought. Might raise bb and slacken a touch also.
