A guy at club is looking for a new HT for his lad.
Size small, more Trail/AM than XC - so around 140mm travel, 10-12 speed and a dropper - budget around £1k.
So far I've come up with:
Saracen Matra - Mullet, Unfortunately Small is out of stock
Kona Honzo DL - Not sure with full 29'er
Merida Big Trail 500 - Not sure with full 29'er
Any others that I've missed?
Trek Roscoe, if you can find one. I had the R9 and it was an awesome bike. Should be able to find the R7 and 8 for around about £1K and they often pop up 2nd hand. Just be sure to look for 2024 onwards as the previous models were totally different bikes.
Others to look at would be the Marin San Quentin and Orbea Laufey.
Having just been through a similar process with my daughter we went for the Whyte Secta R. Same frame throughout the range so worth building on later. MTB Monster also had £100 off RRP.
