I love my Tool jacket but we're getting to the time of year where it's probably a bit warm to wear it - it's quite a fleecy jacket. I tend to switch to an Endura Stealth for the spring/autumn as it's as waterproof but less warm.

I'm a similar size to you and wear a medium but it's quite a 'roadie' (snug) fit.

What's the difference between the Cosmo and the Phantom.
My guess is that the Cosmo has a windstopper back.

Anyway, I'd say:
1. tool
2. Cosmo
3. phantom

I've just bought myself a new Phantom after my old (7-yr) Phantom N2S gave up the ghost. I'm 6ft 1 and it's a roomy fit with the large. I looked at the Tool but it struck me as a little too warm for my needs as when it drops below -10C I tend to pull on a Buffalo.

Flying Fox in Alva was doing deals on the Tool and Phantom. Give Pete a call and see what he can do for you. http://www.flyingfoxbikes.com/

I reckon you'd be a Medium in the Phantom. (I have a large and am a little shorter and a little broader than you)

It's an ace jacket, been warm enough all winter, with appropriate layering, and will do well into spring becausue of the removable sleeves. It has relegated my Endura Stealth to the cupboard.
No experience of the other two but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Phantom.

Phantom is the thinner than the other two. It is also more 4 season thanks to the zip off arms. Tool and Cosmo are proper winter jackets. Tool is more fast Xc and Cosmo more relaxed trail.

i am 6'0'' tall (182 cm), chest 42,5 in (108 cm) and waist 34,5 in (87 cm), weight 12,20 stone (77 kg).

so i guess the large would be correct for me.

some people told me that the large may be a bit short in the back and in the front and not fully covering my lower back when on bike.

should i go for the xlarge or will it be too big in the arms and waist?

XL will be too big for you in the body.

It's tapered at back so should fit nice and well!
