As title, am building a singlespeed Haro Mary 29er and not sure which chainring/cogs to run
any help mucho appreciated
32:18 /34:19 is pretty much standard; equivalent to 2:1 on a 26".
having said that i've just puit my 19t on for winter.
on one c'rings and sprockets are the most durable ime. surly stuff is good too although the chainrings seem liable to bend if you lose a bolt.
Whatever you'd run on a 26" bike, then add 2 teeth to the rear sprocket. 29er wheels have a 10% larger wheel circumference, so you gear down by 10% (adding two teeth to rear sprocket usually) to compensate.
Nice one cheers chaps will give the easier option a go 1st me thinks!!! Lol
I'm running a RaceFace Atlas 32t chainset with a Surly 18t sprocket on my Kona Unit with no issues over the last year.
