Hi,

I recently bought an '09 Iron Horse MkIII Comp x frame and have striped my '06 Kona Kula to build it up but the front mech won't fit. I know it originally came with a SRAM X9 front mech, but does anyone know which of all the variations available it was and would it be compatible with my deore shifters?

Thanks

Mark

IIRC all front mechs/shifters (of the same speed.. ei: 9 speed) are interchangable.
Why doesn't your current (kona) LX front mech fit, is it the size of the seat tube thats an issue? (you can get spacer to make them fit if it's too loose on the seat tube)
Looking at picture of the Iron Horse MKIII it takes a top pull conventional mech as std, but I see no reason why a top swing wouldn't work too (I'd choose a conventional if buying another though)

Thanks Zippy,

The seat tube on the Iron Horse is bigger than the Kona. There isn't much room around there and I think i'll just go with the conventional X9 but wasn't sure about top pull, bottom pull etc. I'll got one ordered from CRC.
