My goodness there are a lot of options for brake pad compound on Discopads website. What am I best getting for general in the summertime riding around Wales and Scotland?

To be fitted to M775 XT brakes.

just got some of the discopads strokertrails off ebay last week for my scruffy HT (10 quid for a full set) semi metallic,,, i think โ“

seem alright but they are quite 'chunky' and i had trouble fitting them because of their extra bulk.
because of this i cannot seem to find the sweet spot either as the wheels run with a tiny bit of rubbing (even with true disks and pistons pushed back) but that will soon right itself as they wear down and im thinking as their is a bit more beef on the pads they will last a little bit longer so its all good.

eeerrmmm- the cheap ebay ones i got may be rejects I.E in a to bulky/dont fit kinda way, others may be spot on. ๐Ÿ™‚

Sintered - hard, long lasting, mediocre stopping power

Organic - soft, not so long lasting, best stopping power

kevlar - somewhere in between, supposed to be the best of both worlds but not quite the stopping power of organics and not quite as long lasting as sintered.

Most companies do variations on those, the confusing bit is they usually have their own names for them.

Cheers all, think I will go for the Kevlar ones. Sounds like a reasonable compromise.
