I am going to change the boys inherited 24" Cube from V-Brakes to disc, any low price recommendations? Probably mechanical over hydraulic I think, for price reasons. Cheers

Mechanical? BB5 for value... however - Clarks M2 is a decent brake set... and will set you back £40! WITH ROTORS!

EDIT - Thats the old ones sorry. New ones are £80. Still a bargain but then Deore is only £75...

EDIT on my EDIT - It should be said AFAIK the old M2s were also a pretty decent brake all things considered. And at £40 for a complete set you cant really go wrong.

Why not get some second hand Deore brakes?

Might be able to pick up some Shimano Deore M596s second hand for about £20 a side maybe.

Or maybe stick something in the wanted section? 🙂

Doh! Never think 2nd hand where the children are concerned, not like it's a birthday present or anything is it! Hydraulic it is, Shimano 2nd hand
