should i ride it heading east towards Kentmere or west riding up from Kentmere? Which provides the most ridable climb and best decent?

Both are good descents, but towards Kentmere gives the most rideable ascent

personally having ridden both directions loads, given the choice i will always go west to east as i feel it provides the most rideable choice and i never realy thought there was much t choose between the two descents

I prefer to climb from Troutbeck and down into Kentmere.
It's a challenging climb ,but it's a carry up from Kentmere for me.
I always come back past dubbs(i think) resovoir so you get the downhill too. ๐Ÿ™‚

Either way is fun though.

if its good in both directions, i could always get to the bottom in one direction, turn round, ride it the other way and then repeat until shattered! 8)

West to East- Fantastic descent instead of a push up then okish bimble.

Plus if you start in Stavely (clockwise) you could ride Garburn then go upto greenquarter and back down the side of the forest and back to Stavely ๐Ÿ™‚

Plenty of circular routes that take in both ways.
