Been browsing for a HT and narrowed it down to either a cube or Rockhopper.
I am new to MTB and am looking for a HT for recreational and singletracks. Not looking for something too technical yet.
I really like the look of the Cube bikes. Either looking at,
Cube Ltd
Cube Attention
Cube Analog Disc
Specialized Rockhopper.
Buget is around £500 for new/used/discontinued
I'd like to put on some carbon rigid forks then put on some half decent suspension forks for singleracks days. Would like to do some cycle touring as well and these have rack mounts.
I cant seem to decide from the Cube bikes above, I've sat on them at my LBS and they all seem to feel the same to me. Manufacturers website states Attention/Analog seem to be classed as trail and Ltd as Racey.
I'd like to ride around scenic places rather man-made trail centres. Possibly doing all day riding with plenty of pit stops. Doing some singletracks in Austria/Italy/Alps is appealing.
Will 100mm travel be enough ?
I can see myself buying a full suspension as a second bike but that's not for a long time.
The only time you will really notice any difference in geo is to get out and ride the options before making a decision.
