Picked up my new Niner air 9 carbon frame on Friday, and now i've stopped drooling over it i need to decide what brakes to put on it?
Got a 3x10 XT groupset to go on and a pair of wheels from justridingalong.com (Hope pro 2 with Stans Arch rims)
I was going to go for XT brakes, never had any so thumbed through some old mags and the reviews i found weren't that positive.
I am trying to keep the overall weight down, however as i tip the scales at 90kg they do need to work?
Any thoughts welcomed?
Magura Marta SL. There are some of the red ones going cheap on eBay (leisure lakes I think), if they'll go with your new Niner?
I'm about the same weight as you and have been very satisfied with my SLX brakes - plenty of power, good feel and I find the lever shape much more comfortable than the Avids I had previously. I expect all the above would also be true of XTs.
I could get away with the red Magura, the frame is black/white but i have got red hubs and spoke nipples!
