Our old Garmin Touring thing just seems to be getting worse with random switch offs and taking 20mins to process routes. It's always been shite at off road stuff. So what should I be looking at? We have no need to heart rate, power, cadence and all that old bollocks

I assumed it was another "cost of living crisis" thread and should have been gdp.

I'm answer to your question - got an "old" smart phone?

What about battery life?

Like everyone who went and bought one I like my Edge explore, but the battery life is pretty shite without a powerbank and there's new Mk2 that goes much longer... If you pay out close to the price of a 1030.

The answer to your question is probably an edge 530, but obviously that comes with a fair bit of the superfluous bollocks, you're not really after.

Battery life isn't a massive worry, vast majority of rides are less than 4 hours and on any touring/backpacking rides I'd take a power bank.

Lots of people seem to have Element Bolts or something, anyone know the pro's and cons?
