Looking for something with Strava. And something to help me find new routes on rides. Do you have to plan a route before you go out with them using things like the GPS routes in magazjnes? Or can you set off and stop and search for routes nearby?
Garmin computers can make a stab at generating circular routes but I've never found one that I liked.
I use a Wahoo ELEMNT and then build routes in RideWithGPS or Strava, and the next time I turn it on they're on the device and ready to go. With the Wahoo app you can pick any point on the map and get a route generated to take you there (more useful to get home or to the start of a route when you don't know the area).
Garmin software has improved in the last couple of years (I love the Climb Pro feature) but in general the Wahoo stuff is utterly bomb proof.
That sounds great. There have been so many rides, yesterday's included, where I see something that looks interesting but can't risk going down it because I don't know where I'll end up.
Also, yesterday I ride with headphones on and since starting paying for Strava I love when I'm at a favourite section and you get the timed prompts.
