[Closed] Which bike brand's owners are the most precious?

Just the one for me at the mo.
🙂

Niece and her partner have it bad, A, 1*1, LHT, Crosscheck and an Instigator so far.
He's just sold his ECR to fund a Disk Trucker.
🙂

The 1*1 is my favourite.

Most folk on here seem a bit precious to me.
Some don't even ride bikes.

Weird thread that other one. Why do people care what brands other people wouldn't buy or don't like? Odd

Anyone who thinks they are better than another rider because their bike cost more

Anyone who doesn't realise the engine matters more than the bike.

I could buy the very bestest bike ever and still be slower than some guys riding one legged unicycles backwards.

So I prefer simple bikes that will last and not break and don't have complicated stuff on them like derailleurs and bouncy bits.

Singlespeeders. They never bloody shut up about it.

And the 'steel is real' crowd.

Last time I was at Swinley, someone told me I shouldn't attempt some section or other because my bottom bracket was too low/high (can't remember which).

It was one of the stranger things anyone's said to me about bikes. (But it was a Saturday…)

Probably because they're vegan.

Hang on a minute...

*checks shed again*

The Cotic is steel, and the Surly is a steel singlespeed.

Right I've had enough of this constant victimisation.

I'm going with Orange- Santa Cruz owners are often precious, but Orange owners take it due to the peerless level of offendedness.

For instance, a guy with a cracked Alpine once got very offended when I said Alpines have cracking issues. How dare you! They're bombproof! Dude, yours is actually broken. NO! BOMBPROOF!

What would be the exact opposite of precious? ie, you have a cheap uncool bike and you are a dick about it around people you've just "beaten" who have expensive bikes? That's totally me.

Well... if you

1. had a cheap bike.
2. were any good at being a dick
3. ever beat people.

1 out of 4 isn't too bad I suppose.

Definitely orange.. Nice enough bikes but basic and overpriced

If they were made in Taiwan they would be slated, but given they are made in a shed in Halifax by a guy with an hnc in welding and a hammer they are above criticism.

They also appear to have the loyalist fan Base of any manufacturer. There are so many good bikes out there I struggle to see why folks always stick to one brand.

I'm no orange hater though, the alpine I rode was ace. But there are lots of ace bikes available, many far cheaper.

Most people I've met with Kleins are pretty precious, especially when you tell them their bike is old and rubbish. 😆

Are we talking owners of the bikes or owners of the brand? They're completely different and the original question was "which bike brand's owners . . . ?"

I've got no suggestions I'd write on a public forum but I've got a few in mind. 😆
