What would you choose?
I'm looking at the Cube reaction gtc but before I choose I'd like some opinions on whether I'm better getting the Carbon Gtc version or the aluminium one.

Any thoughts?

Carbon if built properly is stronger then Alu/steel, and doesn't degrade/fatigue over time like Ali (or steel?), and tends to have a better trail damping abilities.
If it fails it will be a catastrophic failure as it just breaks. rather than bend or dent like Alu/steel - though it's not like the collapse if you look at em wrong.
The carbon one does have another stupid BB standard though.

utter tosh, my mate had a crack in his bb shell for ages and no catastrophic failure.

it really is time people stopped scare mongering about carbon.

Not sure whether to go for the ally frame with the better fork or the better (possiblly) frame with the slightly lesser fork
anyone with any experience of either
The bikes are the same weight so be interested on opinions?

If it was my money i'd go for the carbon, the Reba isn't that lesser a fork imo and i prefer the ride of, and trust carbon over superlight ali. SLX gearing isn't that much away from XT either and will probably be the first bits replaced due to wear anyway so could be upgraded at that point and it'll lose weight then and be lighter.
