You can buy hope steel free hubs, which might be cheaper in the long run as you can then throw cheaper cassettes (more a consumable item) on.

Or you can simply take the cassette off now and again to stop it digging in too hard.. My lbs lightly gently filled the edge of the splines, which kinda makes sense as it should discourage the cassette gripping in too hard. Put a film of grease on it too.
