For trails? Got an 80 atm but want to go shorter, there seem to be loads of 50mm & 85mm but not much in between
Easton Haven or Hope?
Thomson
North Shore Billet Overlord
As above Easton haven, hope and Thomson all good and some are even shiny 😀
I've got a Haven, no complaints. I'd also look at Chromag.
Had a Thomson for the past few years and have had no trouble with it. Did have a Hope briefly that was also nice.
On One Ultralight CNC - 70mm ones are reduced at the moment too.
OP, mail me if you fancy a Thomson. I'm breaking a bike and have a 70mm 0 degree Elite X4, not gone on classifieds yet as I haven't got round to cleaning and photoing everything.
Thomson every time.
Orange Stalk from eBay. If there's not one on now there will be soon.
I have the 55mm Easton Haven and it is a lovely bit of kit. A mate has the 70mm and that is equally as nice
+1 On One Ultralight. Lovely object.
Whatever you get, it's pointless spending more than£40. There's virtally no differnece between decent OEM stuff and top end stuff these days.
For instance a Bontager Race light is £40 and 118g
The same size Bontrager XXX in carbon is £150 and 109g
I'm about to order a On One Ultralight in 70mm flavor.
I have a thomson. Its great.....it matches my seatclamp and headset topcap 🙂
Truvativ AKA - cheap, looks nice, works well.
Easton Havon's lovely. Beautifully made & simple to setup with the Top Lock mechanism too.
40% off at Wiggle at the moment 🙂

Got to agree - dog the top bolts up suitably tight, then clamp the bar with the bottom bolts - it's quite a nice system actually - simple, but effective!
Stands out IMO, although Thomson kit is always nice
Been a Thomson fanboi for years but recently got an 85mm Haven and it is significantly stiffer
I am currently looking at this for my Fuel, came with 100mm stem, but cant seem to find much out about what the right length is, someone said it needs to be inline with the front fork axle, any advances on that?
On-One CNC +1. Real nice stem for the money.
KCNC flyride (few options with KCNC actually) or on one CNC. Arn't the Thomson stems heavy?
Carbon Cycles Exotic stems are like £13 quid or something... don;'t have the bling factor but they work!
Easton Vice. A bit like the Haven but a bit stronger and with 5mm bolts not 4mm.

how can you possibly tell?
+1 for Carbon Cycles...why pay more?

Worked for me.
+1 on the Carbon Cycles stem. I have one on one of my bikes. Its well made, nice and stiff and at a very very competitive weight.
I can't see it being a problem unless you are a heavy rider or riding stuff with big drops. For your average xc ride or trail centre stuff it'll be fine.
