Why a 5:10 shoe for Spds? SO it looks like you are riding flats and gnarly in the cafe and carpark?

Any really however I don't get on with alot of spd/mtb shoes as I found the grips fouled with clipping in/unclipping. I looked at the Spesh Tahoe but they have mixed reviews on sole flex.

For the minaars you will need to run the thin plate to lift the cleat out a bit. Also.with grippy pedals it may make clipping harder but better if you follow. On mallets with fresh pins you are very connected to the pedal

Maltese Falcon?

I've no idea what it's like to ride or own but it felt light and not overly bulky when I picked one up at the Alpine Bikes shop at Glentress.

No!! It's a SPD type pedal with a cage (a heafty metal one with pins)

The pins grip the sole of the shoe along with the clip. Very good for missed clipping etc or sketchy moments.
