hey all,

I'd have thought this would have been done to death by now, but I can only find a few semi-related threads via search.

I need to find a 1.5 to 1.125" reducer headset - i.e. to fit a standard 1.125" fork in a 1.5" headtube. There seems to be very little choice out there, unless I'm missing something.

The only two I've been able to find are the Hope one and a Token one. The Token is a little cheaper, at £40ish quid.

Are there any others I should look at?

I've also been looking at the shims available from FSA and Santa Cruz - anyone got any experience with these? My concerns would be that it would be a real pain to try to tap the headset out without also taking the shims out and having the headset cups and the shims locked together forever more...

Thanks

I have an FSA Big Pig R which was under £40 from CRC. I even managed to easily get a 1.5" lower crown race as a spare so I can use the same headset with tapered and non-tapered forks

Betd engineering make some step down inserts for £25 which means of course you can use any 'normal' 11/8 headset and aren't limited to the step down variety.
