I've decided to convert my Superlight to 2x10spd and am looking for some chainrings. OR, am i better off just buying a new chainset?

I was thinking maybe 36t and 24t. I currently have last years 9spd XT Chainset.

Thanks for any advice.

9 speed rings work with 10 speed chains, so your XT chainset will be fine. Unless they need changing anyway of course...

Yeah, i want to go from 22/32/44 to 24/36 so i will need new ones. Good to know that 9spd will work though. That widens my choices. Although, i had read somewhere that 10spd rings have different ramps on them...

The Shimano 10 speed rings are different, but 9 speed ones work fine.

I'd use TA Chinooks, available in any size you want, last well and not too expensive - check out Starbike.com in Germany for better stock at cheaper prices than over here.
