Shimano freehub, need a new cassette.

My sunrace wobbles around all over the place and needs replacing. Not that keen on another sunrace if there's a better option?

Cheers

Cheers will check it out.

How many pieces is it in? I think the sunrace's issue is that it's in about 4 bits.

Are you sure it's the cassette and not the freehub wobbling or that it has the correct spacer fitted?

Deore - £25 if you shop around.

I have the sunrace MX3 and my daughter has the deore. Both work well, the deore is a bit more portly though. I suspect your wobbly sunrace is probably not fitted right.

+1.
Mine is fine, apart from being worn down and needing replacing.

I've just taken it apart. The freehub does have a little bit of play but not much.

I'll put it back together and have another play. Before it's tightened up each section has quite a lot of twisting play, like the grooves are a bit oversized. I'm not sure if it still does when it's all tightened down.

Ran an MX3 11-46 on a Hope Pro2 Evo for 12 months. Rock solid throughout.

OK so it might have been a combination of not quite tight enough and a wobbly freehub. The freehub doesn't have much movement but once the cassette is on it amplifies the small amount of play. I've put it back together and will see how it goes.

I tried to pull it off to take a look but not sure how it comes off, with both the end caps off there's nothing obvious locking it on but it won't pull off.

is it a shimano hub? If so then it's held onto the hub shell either by a 10mm hex bolt for QR or 15mm for thru-axle but you have to take the axle out of the hub to access the bolt since the axle passes through it.

No it's not Shimano, it's apparently a KT Sealed Cartridge 6-Bolt 170x9mm (Taken from the bike spec) but it has no markings on it.

I should have taken a picture when I had it off. There's nothing obvious under the end cap that's holding it on. Might be one for the bike shop.

ok. With shimano the bolt is hollow and the axle passes through, you stick the allen key into the axle to access it so it may be same. Most cartridge hubs seem to just have the freehub held on my the whole thing being under compression so if it doesnt just pull off by hand (Hope and DT do this) I'm not sure.
