Any good value bike friendly place to stay near to Ambleside for 3 people?

The youth hostel is decent but the bike shed was completely packed floor to ceiling when we stayed there so ended up storing bikes in the car instead.

Second the YHA, great location and a lovely place.
My default Lake District suggestion of The Drunken Duck isn't far away either, more expensive and "nicer" but accommodating of muddy walkers and cyclists.
