[Closed] Where to get an oddball shock spring? Manitou 38mm I.D - 1.5"

[#9443036]

So I've got an old 4" travel 4x frame that I've done a mock build on to try it on for size and just sitting on it I can tell it's really under-sprung at the back for my 240lb bulk.

The shock is a 165mm eye-to-eye Manitou Swinger X4. The spring is a 650 x 1.5 with a 38mm internal diameter and is 95mm long uncompressed.

I reckon I need an 850 or more but am struggling to find one, any ideas?

I have a fox spring that I got a long time ago as part of a Vanilla RC - that went with a bike so this was spare - sat in the parts bin for about 8/9 years I think.
it seems to be 95mm long ID seems to be about 35 so might not fit your shock but 1050 x 1.5 (maybe 1.6) the numbers aren't very clear.

Anyway - if you're interested you can have it if you donate some pennies to an air ambulance service of your choice.

Let me know if it's any good for you.

Ah that sounds promising, thank you for the offer. Fox do measure the maximum stroke in a different way to everyone else so it's quite possibly 1.6. If it is that would be fine.

35mm will fit over the body but might not sit properly on the preload ring and collet. I'll have a good look at them to see I could make it work and if you wouldn't mind taking an as accurate as possible measurement of the I.D I'd be most grateful.

Right. I tried a 35mm Fox spring on the shock and I can make it work. My brother also had a 32mm Fox which definitely won't fit but he said they changed to 35 many a moon ago. It's amazing how different they look to each other for only a 3mm difference.

So as long as it's 35mm I.D then I would like it please.
