My Mrs is taking her Mum up to Skye next week, just wondering if anyone can reccommend any nice places to eat for the pair of them. Don't think they'll be bothered about good beer!
Also, if it's hoying it down (which it will be) & apart from Dunvegan Castle, where else would be good to visit & keep dry?

BTW, theyr'e not taking bikes.

I can recommend the Talisker distillery and The sligachan hotel. A bit out of town but both worth it !!

Had a great meal in The Isles Inn when we toured in April, the live music was good too.

The Bosvilles' Bar was rather nice too though ๐Ÿ˜‰

Not much to do in Portree im afraid.. there is a good Hotel just on the corner of the High Street (it faces the town square), there is another Hotel on the high street aswell, it has a coffee shop downstairs and a pub/restaurant upstairs. Does pub food but good portions and well priced, the chippy down by the harbour is good as is the one at the end of the High street.

If you drive another 15 miles to Uig there is a small brewery with a gift shop, im sure you can tour the brewery... There is also a visitors centre just as you come into Portree on the left, never been in but looks busy enough. Lots of nice wee towns on the way aswell.

It is is sunny Skye is probably the most beautiful place you can visit, however if the Scottish weather lives up to it's reputation and it rains.... it is like the end of the world!!!

Enjoy.

The Chip shop on the Harbour has a resturant, had very good Salmon in there.

The Indian down the hill from the tourist information was top notch when we were there. I'm going back four years though.

Cafe Arriba is worth a visit - it overlooks the harbour on one side ๐Ÿ™‚

EDIT: I've been told to mention Skye Batiks if they like clothes shopping, they'll probably get a free coffee there too.
