Ok so I'm getting itchy feet, this weather is doing nothing for my offroad-biking-mojo.

I have a 120mm full sus bike, like to ride technical, rocky and also fast smooth-flowing bermed trails with some jumps. Up as well as down. E.g. Wales trail centres, FOD verderers, plus natural trails like the peaks.

If I were to get on a plane to Europe In August where would be best?

Has to not cost a lot to fly there, have good weather, plenty of trails to ride in a smallish(easily accessible)area, trails need to be mind-blowingly good... Don't want to be wishing I'd stuck out the rain and grit and just done the peaks!!

Love the look of Sierra Nevada in Spain, but guided trips there are ££.. Morzine or Chamonix? Are they all they're cracked up to be? Where else is good?

Thanks!

Verbier's definitely got the full spectrum of mind-blowing trails, and www.bikeverbier.com definitely have the knowledge and facilities to get you to them. Worth forking out whatever it costs.

I'd say Portes Du soleil - but not nescissarily Morzine. Been to Les Gets and Chatel a few times now - Chatel wins for me.

However you've left it late if you want to get cheap flights. It ended up cheaper for 2 of us to drive out, and we looked at the flight prices way in advance.... I'm just trying to convince myself
not
to go back in August.

Spain doesnt have to be expensive, a lot of those bike trips prices include food and drink. Plus it's fairly cheap when you get there. Hot in August though.

I hate to say it, but Morzine area probably fits your bill, though not so much of the techie, rocky stuff compared with some other areas I can think of.

2 out of those 3 will do if the OP really wants to keep the cost down.
