£35 for a seat clamp, **** me, I hope you are popping it on something nice.

What would you recommend then boatman? I've had Hope and it broke.

Carbon paste instead of grease so you don't have to tighten the clamp so much, then the clamp won't (or is less likely to ) break!

Ah ok, I'll get a cheaper clamp and try that then.

I wasn't suggesting you don't buy it, I just followed the link as I'm looking for a new clamp and was surprised by the price. I know chromag make nice kit, and the detail on the clamp is pretty nice, but I had a 'put the wallet down' moment.

Only Chromag ones have the brass insert that feels so nice. Mmmmm.....

I've got a gold Chromag one on one bike and a Hope on another, and overall do prefer the Chromag despite the price, it just works really well (and looks pretty good)

I've got a Chromag on the Helius one and it's much better than the Hope one I had on another bike.

Chromag on my Alpine. They are the future.

I just use brandx ones from CRC. they might only last 2 years, but then just buy another. Job done
